Hey y’all, I’m Simone! Most people call me Mone or Monie but any of the three are fine. I am an Assistant Principal by day and I recently graduated from being full-time PhD student by night and a wife and mommy of three kids under three, 24/7. I have always loved to write, I was an English major in undergrad. But honestly, writing during my Master’s and Doctoral programs made writing (and reading) during my free time, seem like more of a chore than leisure.
In the past couple of weeks, I crossed the stage for the last time and I am now, officially, Dr. Simone Dumas.
Social media is an outlet for me; so if you see me sharing so much, this is why! Sharing my life’s experiences brings me joy because I know that somewhere, someone is benefiting from them. It’s helped me meet so many women, mothers, grad students and educators.
The goal of my blog is to share tips and connect people from all over who may need help in any of the above areas! Not only will I be discussing motherhood, education and graduate school, but I will bring in More Voices, where people I respect and admire will share their experiences on several topics. If there’s anything you want to ask, or some topics you recommend, please feel free to comment in the Q&A section!
